WHY YOU NEED ONE

This is the most comprehensive type of survey. Often referred to as a pre-purchase survey, these inspections are strongly advised when purchasing a new or used vessel. The condition and overall operation of the vessel should be examined. This includes such items as structural integrity, out of water inspection, sea trial, electrical systems, propulsion system, fuel system, machinery, navigation, misc. on board systems, electronics, cosmetic appearance, and overall maintenance. This survey is critical to ensure you are aware of the vessels integrity, safety compliance, and needs. Only visual inspections are performed on the engines. It is strongly recommended that you enlist the services of a certified mechanic or technician to perform a complete engine survey.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

A thorough assessment of the vessel can save you money in the long run! Identification of problem areas or issues not meeting the requirements of federal regulations or the recommendations of other organizations such as the American Boat and Yacht Council can lead to fines, safety hazards, and various other forms of loss. Additionally, simple maintenance items often lead to major issues if not identified and addressed in a timely fashion.
